About the district:
The fire district rural community is located approximately 3 miles from the beautiful Village of
Bigfork and Flathead Lake. The district is 85 square miles surrounded by mountains, trees and
waterways. The fire department is volunteer with a paid fire chief and administrative assistant.
The department responded to 86 calls for service in 2024. The district is home to 2000
residents.

Pay & Perks:
• $12,000.00 - $18,000.00 per year with potential sign on bonuses and completion of probationary
period

Typical Duties:
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the fire department.
• Develop reports and recommendations and present them to the Fire Board Trustees.
• Overseeing fire suppression, rescue, EMS and prevention activities.
• Managing budgets and ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Coordinating fire department activities with other fire departments and agencies.
• Recruiting, training, and evaluating firefighters.
• Inspecting district firefighting facilities and equipment insuring operational statis and
readiness.

Minimum Qualifications:
• In possession of or ability to obtain valid Montana State driver’s license.
• The ability to respond to emergency incidents within the district in a timely manner.
• To be physically fit without any physical impediments.
• Available 24/7
